≡ Congrats to U11 Girls SMFC take 2nd Place at Nationals after losing in Penalty Kicks

Congratulations to the SMFC U-11 Girls team for taking 2nd Place in the United States Futsal National Tournament. The Wolverines went into the finals with 3 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie record going into the playoffs with the top seed in the age group. SMFC faced Daynattiville in the finals which was only team who tied SMFC. This was a exciting game with Daynattiville scoring first, Southern Maryland were forced to start pressing early after missing a couple early opportunity’s. As the end of the 1st half just minutes away Daynattiville defender commits a foul in the box awarding SMFC with a penalty kick, Southern Maryland capitalizes on this opportunity by putting it in the top corner. Second half begins and SMFC controlling the game missing numerous of opportunity’s in front of the goal. As the game gets closer to the end of regulation Daynattiville gets a break on controversial foul in the box rewarding Daynattiville with a penalty kick with 3 minutes left in the game. Daynattiville top scorer steps up to take the penalty kick, while both benches and all fans sitting on the edge of there seats awaiting the kick. Daynattiville top scorer shoots and SMFC goalkeeper with cat like reflexes saves the shot, putting them into overtime. After playing additional two 5 minute overtime periods it was still tied. Both teams exhausted they headed into Penalty Kicks where SMFC loss after having a great tournament and a incredible Championship performance came up a little short, but still being the number 2 team in the country is quite accomplishment.

heyy!! i was so proud of my team for all their hard work!! I’m very sorry for not going in sooner after i got hurt. I tried my best!! and i am very proud for us to get 2nd place!!! if you think about it…. we are the 2nd BEST U11 GURLS FUTSAL TEAM IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! its such a pleasure to be on your team and your the best coach eva!!! our team luvs ya sooooo much danny!!!

HEY!!! we all played our best. we only lost due to penlty kicks, we played great futsal. we have the best team, and coach!! I love this team!! I am proud to play with all of you. i am proud to say i am apart of this team and proud of all there hard work! look atit this way we will kick there butts next year we will be twice as good as them. hey!!
i just wanted to say that this is the best tournament i have ever played at. (:
and it was definetely the funnest tournament too. !
we played with 100% intensity like our coach told us too.
we lost due to penalty kicks at the championship game .
we will definetely come back next year and demolish this team (:
this team is the best i ahev ever played on .<3

we play the game of futsal the way we were taught too and we were taught to play with 100% heart and thats what we layed out on the court that game and we hope to play again in 2008 ( :

Aw dog thats not how it went down! daynattiville rox ur sox! and there are no NO accidents(Quote: kung fu panda) so Daynattiville was OBVIOUSLY meNT TO WIN! plus the top scorer did NOT take the pk kick, she was probably our least likely to take one! You kNow its nice to say that MY TEAM IS THE FUTSAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!THATS 1ST PLACE SO WHAT NOW SMFC! i can’t wait to play u next year! lol

WOW. I can’t even believe you guys even think you have this in the bag. Our coach is the best coach at that whole tournement. He coached a team that hadn’t ever played futsal. And you weren’t even in your age group so you need to stop talking trash because its going nowhere if you can’t prove it on the court. Oh and Alizah is right, that girl is NOT our top scorer, or top shooter. She took that pk cuz she was the first one to step up and even though she missed it she is a huge asset to our team and we all still believe in her. I cannot wait until you see us this year!!! You’ll be so happy to see we have improved 20x since the last time we played you when we “demolished” you. Sooo I guess I’ll talk to you in July! Bye bye guys!

Im so happy that we won this year and we really wanted to win too . so we beat daynattiville and we beat them . so im happy to say that we are the 2009 national futsal champions !
